A deterrent, but can be removed while locked
May serve as a deterrent but it is very easy to remove this gas cap while it is still locked. Have confirmed with several others who have ordered this product that it comes off with ease without having to unlock it. Just push in while you turn it and voila... off it comes. Spraying a little WD-40 on the rubber seal seems to solve it, but that may be only a temporary fix.

Ideally would want this to have option to lock, or just not lock. I ultimately opted for the OEM version because security was not a great concern.

Looked on eBay first and found a gas cap but they wanted about $10.00 more for it. Ordered from Lee Auto and had it in mail mailbox in record time. Product as advertised.
It fits perfectly and unlocks very easy without sticking.

Can't say I live where gas is stolen from vehicles on a regular basis, but having a locking cap makes sense if your vehicle doesn't come with a locking cover with an inside release lever. Also prevents anyone who has a beef from pouring sugar in the tank.

Very disappointed to not knowing I had to pay 63$ in COD shipping charges. Not only did I pay for shipping, I paid half the value of my order a 2nd time to UPS to collect my 2 items... Will think twice before ordering from LEEparts.
